These glitches are actually quite common, and responsible for my closing my KDP account and pulling my ebooks. In 2012, a major glitch in the system cause absolutely no sales to process through, if there were any; and in 2013 the same thing happened again when Amazon changed the book listing algorithm to hide self-published books, again causing no sales. As a rule, I do not shop anywhere on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Instead, I am busy upgrading my web sites. I even spent the weekend at a science fiction convention and did all my Christmas shopping there, to support my local economy. I suspect that as Amazon gets bigger and bigger, the proportion of glitches will increase. I suggest that everyone hop off the Amazon train now, before it derails. |
