eBay Won't Remove Late Shipment Ding

Didn't get removed because that was either a dumb bot making a dumb decision or an overseas C.S. agent typing from a script.  "Machine learning", the future is now.

Happens on eBay Canada, too.  My buyer - a regular who's always happy with his purchases, answered the question on each 'leave feedback' page for 3 items shipped together....''Did your item arrive within eBay's estimated delivery time ?''.... with a 'no', as the package arrived a few days after the window. .  He thought it was just eBay's way of measuring how efficient the mail service was during the pandemic and during the height of the seasonal mail rush.

The buyer left positive feedback on all 3 purchases, stating in part ''fast shipping''.  I appealed the 3 dings and got the same canned bot response as above.  I sent a further note, including reference to my buyer stating through eBay messages that he was happy with everything and not faulting me as a seller.  I pointed out also that feedback stated ''fast shipping''.

The only bot response I received was that they were ''removing negative feedback'' specific to the 3 items.  There WAS no negative feedback ....it was all positive.  So, I sent another note indicating that I wanted to have the late shipping dings removed, explaining it all again ...........and never heard another thing.  The 3 dings remain on my service metrics..

The late shipping punishment hurts a lot of very good sellers, over the years we've had dozens of instances of buyer ASKING us to delay shipping for a variety of reasons.

From them being away for several weeks to even THREE MONTHS in one case on a $50,000 Chinese dish that was paid for but the buyer was in London , not home in Hong Kong from November to late February, or folks buy things and are waiting for an auction to end to add to the order to save on Shipping etc.

eBay isn't the user's Partner anymore than a Landlord is a family member of his tenants. Users are in effect renting space to make sales, nothing else.

@"E." (the OP) - You should try posting a message to eBay's Twitter account, AskeBay. There are actual live people who answer questions and they might be able to help you.

First step is to use their automated system via seller help when filing a request to remove. About 20% of those will be evaluated incorrectly as their algorithm is poorly (or purposefully) coded. Next step is to use the file an appeal via the email us link at bottom of page here. 100% success removing the incorrect ones this way myself.

I did contact eBay and and restated the entire thing. Made sure she looked at all the information and she said it was clear the issue was not mine.

So. hahaha...They'll contact me within 72 hours. Right. Not holding my breath.

Call anyway - and keep calling

Ask for a manager - not the dumb shmoes who answer first time round.

Go to their Facebook page, go to their Twitter account - keep hounding them as much as possible!

That seems to be Ebays new response to any error that their system makes now.  The correct decision was made and therefore cannot be reversed no matter how much evidence you have to prove our decision wrong.   It has basically become if you are not the buyer don't bother contacting us as we do not ever make mistakes as we are EBAY !!!  

Then they will wonder why they continue to lose more and more sellers and those that stick around list only their cheaper items which they can afford to lose when Ebay cheats them out of their money or product by giving it away.  Ebay loves to give out defects as in their minds the penalties they hit sellers with for various defects are justified and is about the only way that Ebay can justify any type of fee increases.  I really would love to see Ebay allow Sellers to rate their services as they would undoubtedly rate them the worst overall Ecommerce company to deal with.

If you did nothing wrong and you have the facts to prove it, ebays letting lies stand is slander - which they host and it’s a crime.

if you loose business/sales due to people seeing those incorrect remarks it’s ebays fault and the should be held liable.

There are rules of conduct and behavior and they apply to EVERYONE.

There is one thing that could potentially take them down and that's if the number of Confirmed and active sellers were counted We all know that there are millions that don't exist any more. Heavens, just go through feedback and see how many have dropped off.

The degree of that misrepresentation should be considered criminal?

Unfortunately you will have to call Ebay to get that defect removed.  The automated system likely looked at only the info on Ebay and as you said it was incomplete.  So you need to call.

I have had some problems with eBay.  Unfortunately, some of the eBay reps lack common sense and are only able to respond using guidelines that may not apply.  If you get a "How did We Do" survey from eBay, give the process and rep a zero and explain as clearly as possible why you gave that rating.  I got so frustrated with a response that at the end of the survey I said I will continue to challenge the result until an eBay rep has enough common sense to understand my position.  I challenged the response and a different eBay rep removed the defect.

We had a blizzard but I got all my packages into the mailbox which was cleared for pick up here in New England. We had light snow which covered three packages that the postman dropped. Unfortunately, we have had this unscanned package problem many times during blizzards but they always showed up. That is until we found three packages that were under the melting snow that the postman dropped. You are right they will not remove the three dings. Thank goodness it wasn't 30 packages that has happened when we had 4 feet of snow in 24 hours. Not good for a small seller.

If they don't get scanned, send another one is the only way to fight this.

And as suspected, the smack for late shipment is still there along with my proof that is was labeled and marked shipped by UPS the next day.

Don't feed me anymore BS about "Call them and they will remove it" Maybe if you work for them.
