All sellers with high shipping charges should have all their items sent to the bottom of the pile. Nothing worst than paying 12.00 for shipping and find out that the seller only paid 6.00

Buyer just aren't that stupid anymore. Stealth postage is not going to cover the overpriced shipping scam. All the buyer has to do is go to the post office to find out what was paid. And claiming that the shipping cost includes handling is a farce.

When they admit ti search manipulation it's time to leave.

Algorithms = rigged search.

As someone above said, this has "deal with China" written all over it.

Taking a sellers money but hiding them in search is nothing less than criminal.

I don't sell on Etsy but when they fired the previous CEO and hired an Ex-Ebay Executive there was little doubt in  my mind that they would start making changes to be more like Ebay.  This in spite of the fact that all the raves about Etsy had been their ability and resistance to try and be just like Ebay.  So now they are following right down the same path as Ebay did

Shipping and handling.

At any rate..shipping is shipping..making sellers lose money is not the best way to do business.

It hurts buyers in the long run...as the best items that need extra packaging and shipping gets buried and all thsts left are cheap chinese crap.

I've been on Etsy for 10 years and 99% of the time shipping has been reasonable across the board for all sellers I've purchased from, searched on, etc. Every once in a while one will be kind of high, but not 'egregious'. .

So I guess this is for that 1% of users.

Josh has always advocated for free shipping or very low shipping.  They even post on your listings when your shipping is higher than they think it should be in the hope you will change it.  So now they have added another incentive, a boost in search, if you offer low or free shipping.  Why anyone is surprised is beyond me.  I learned a long time ago, that if Etsy wants sellers to do something and they do not do it willingly then Etsy finds a way to force it.  This is only the beginning.

Shipping costs what it costs, plus materials (packing, padding, tape are not free) and my time/gas to go to the post office. I am not Amazon where I can get a deal with the post office. I cannot cut my shipping costs and eat the difference. That's just how it is.

International sellers are being targeted by this deeply corrupt organization which pretends to be so benevolent towards indie businesses and pretends to be a global platform.

First we had ''localization'' which hides international listings from the US market

Then we had the greedy and dishonest 5% grab on shipping costs which penalizes the already high cost of international shipping

Then the ''ships in 1-3 days'' filter which shows buyers only items in their own country.

Now another way to penalize international sellers

But we get a shitty 3rd class service!

Big items = Big Shipping cost = Big FVF

We raised ALL our etsy prices last month, buyers are still buying, but we are finding that customers are doing the same thing that they did at ebay, the first sale is from etsy, all other repeat sales are from our website, where they find the same items at a much lower price.

These venues will Never win on lowest price it simply cost more money to sell thru them, and that is a fact, no mater what they want, it will never happen, and when they penalize the sellers items, they also penalize themselves too,

etsy slime bellies should be arrested for stealing fees on shipping while turning just the opposite and telling buyers it should be free shipping. there is nothing free. boxes , packing , tape , postal fees ARE NOT FREE. then the buyers has received so much STUPID DUST from these corrupt venues that they believe all is free.

Alright, if this is the way it's going to be then they should give a prepaid postage like Posh does.  Buyer goes to Posh, buys the item + pays the 6.69 priority mail postage.  Seller prints the postage and sends the order.  That's simple and clean.  No guessing.  Everybody is charged the same postage.

a lot of heavy , custom made items that weigh 40 or 100  pounds or more would never ship even next door for 6.69. not everything in the world can be shipped for this.

What, pray tell, sells on Etsy that's 40 lbs?  Furniture?  Art?  Anywho, the 6.69 is a contract with the USPS to ship any weight for 6.69.  So if your item weights 10 lbs and it's $12 to ship, the USPS will still ship it with the prepaid shipping.
