It’s clear Amazon is focused on robotics, but it’s not abandoning its human workforce. On Thursday, the company announced a new 30,000 square foot corporate office in Las Vegas to support its Human Resources teams and growing workforce.
The 100 employees in Las Vegas who specialize in “managing leave of absence and accommodation services” for US employees will be joined by another 125 workers in the city.
In its announcement, Amazon said it is one of the only tech companies in the US that has full-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to support deaf or hard of hearing employees.
Earlier this month Amazon announced it was investing over $40 million to develop a new facility in Massachusetts for its Robotics division.
Amazon noted on Thursday it had 750,000 employees worldwide.
