I’ve had a much better experience selling on Mercari and Poshmark in recent times and am considering leaving eBay altogether. I rarely get returns in the past 10+ years I’ve been selling but this past year they’ve been getting worse. It’s far too easy for eBay buyers to abuse the return system and things like ‘does not accept returns’ mean absolutely nothing and they know it. They just want to borrow items for whatever reason at my expense to ship AND return the stuff. I spend so much time taking nice photos detailing all the info for my items but half the time the don’t even bother to read. That and combined with no real customer service or support anymore..and a lousy, time-consuming listing process has really killed the platform for me.

Maybe 1 or 2 per year out of 1000 items mailed.

I return lots of things I order and wonder if the seller is going to ban me over it. Why? they are poorly describe, do not work as described, but basically it boils down to the seller is trying to sell something that is not there.

My last return was for a Microsoft controller in which the installation instruction were trash, I had to go to youtube to figure out how to install it, then it nearly toasted my computer and I lost 4 printers over it. What would you do with something like that. Return it…

PS. I maintain 12K listings on ebay, run a SQL database on my PC, and have a degree in Computer Science.
