Amazon offers sellers the ability to purchase shipping through its platform for non-FBA orders, called Amazon Buy Shipping and available in Seller Central. It launched a new feature that gives sellers greater flexibility when printing shipping labels through the program: Amazon Print Connect.
For those unfamiliar with Amazon Buy Shipping, Amazon acts as a shipping carrier – as ShipRush explains: “Outside of Amazon, a shipping carrier is actually a truck that transports and delivers your packages, and you purchase service from that shipping carrier. In Amazon Merchant Fulfillment, you actually purchase the shipping service from Amazon, but you then hand the packages to the actual carrier (USPS, FedEx or UPS) for transportation.”
Here’s the letter announcing the new Amazon Print Connect feature.
Dear Seller,
Thanks to sellers’ feedback, we have launched Amazon Print Connect. When purchasing shipping labels through Buy Shipping, you can now automatically print labels directly to your preferred thermal or laser printer with just one click*.
Set up Amazon Print Connect >
With Amazon Print Connect, you can:
– Set a preferred printer for shipping labels

*You will have the option to print shipping labels with one click after installing the Amazon Print Connect application.
In discussing the new feature, sellers seemed generally happy with Amazon Print Connect, though some experienced some browser-related issues and one seller said it constantly ran in the background. Another seller said it was missing the ability to have packing slips print alongside the shipping labels.
