eBay Advises Sellers of UK Postal Rate Changes

eBay advised sellers of changes to postal rates in the UK. Royal Mail rates will change its rates effective March 29, 2016.

eBay UK treats sellers differently depending on whether they are registered businesses or if they are private sellers. The latter will pay two different rates depending on whether they purchase and print labels online or if they pay retail at the Post Office counter.

The marketplace encouraged sellers to shop around for the best service, “particularly when it comes to larger/heavier items,” and said it would make available offers from a range of couriers in its Label Printing service.

eBay provided a link for UK business sellers to get rates for their packages, and noted that Royal Mail was also making product and price changes to its international services.

eBay will be updating its Postage Estimator for UK sellers to reflect the changes and said, “We’ve also updated the tool to reflect the services that are available on our Pay and Print Label Service and to display the Postage Discounts available on that platform.”

You can find the full announcement with links on the eBay UK website, and the eBay Postage Estimator can be found on PostageEstimator.ebay.co.uk.
