It’s going to get more expensive for casual sellers to list on eBay UK next month unless they have a 100% sell-through rate. eBay announced a change to its automatic-relist feature – it will impact private sellers on eBay UK only, and takes effect on August 17th.
eBay will charge such sellers insertion fees when they relist if they have already made 20 listings in the month. eBay noted that private sellers who relist listings with optional features such as subtitle will be charged feature fees when the item automatically relists.
eBay UK will no longer make the auto-relist feature the default – “you can choose to use this feature every time you make a listing,” it stated.
eBay UK launched auto-relist in 2013. “The feature is best used in certain cases, for example when listing unique items such as collectibles that may take longer to sell. In other cases, if your listing is unsuccessful, we recommend that you add additional photos, change the description or adjust the listing format and price to help a successful relist.”
