Amazon launches Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe

Amazon launched a new service on Friday called Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe for $4.99/month. The existing Prime Wardrobe program is a “try before you buy” program that gives shoppers seven days to try-on a selection of items at home and charges only for the items they decide to keep (“you get to fill up your box with items to try on at home”).

The new Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe program “combines innovation with a personalized human touch that makes shopping for fashion easier than ever, and gives shoppers “the ultimate convenience of a personalized shopping experience.”

“Customers complete a survey about their style and fit preferences and any additional specifics they want – then, Amazon Fashion’s stylist team will do the shopping for them, pulling personalized recommendations to meet their needs. Customers get to preview their picks and select which items they want to ship and try in the comfort of their homes.”

Tech publication Geekwire called Personal Shopper the latest in a series of moves that push Amazon further into the fashion business, writing, “The e-commerce giant has been steadily investing in apparel and fashion for the past few years, leveraging its technology horsepower.”

Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe is available through the Amazon App and is currently available for women’s styles, with men’s coming soon.

Amazon blog post follows:

Millions of customers love shopping for fashion on Amazon, and no two customers are the same. Our customers all have their unique tastes, preferences, and fashion sensibilities, and we love that. That is why at Amazon Fashion we are committed to providing our customers with unparalleled selection – from wardrobe essentials to trends, across well-known brands, our own Private Brands and emerging designers – with great prices. In addition to a breadth of selection, our customers have told us they want a more convenient way to discover the styles and brands they want.

Today, we are launching an innovation to give customers more convenience in shopping for fashion on Amazon.

  1. Golly Gee….. Where can I buy all the second hand items that were returned after they were USED? Maybe I will just stick to my local thrift store!
