Flood-Related Shipping Delays in Some Parts of US?

In between winter and hurricane season there’s spring, but nature is not taking it easy in many locales this year. The pictures coming in from southern Africa from Tropical Cyclone Idai are heartbreaking.

In the US, parts of the Midwest are devastated due to severe flooding. USPS service alerts show some post offices in Nebraska and Iowa are still impacted. This might be a page to keep handy in case you’re shipping to folks in the middle of the country (or expecting orders from there).

UPS also suspended pickups and deliveries in various areas (parts of Iowa as of right now).

And there’s more damage to come. PBS Newshour reported that the worst of the flooding so far has been in Nebraska, southwestern Iowa and northwestern Missouri, and the National Weather Service is warning that flooding in parts of South Dakota and northern Iowa could soon reach historic levels.
