Canadian payments provider Payment Source added Amazon Cash to its Loadhub pay-in-person solution, available at Canada Post retail locations. Company CEO Trevor Cook called the offering inclusive, saying ecommerce should not be restricted to shoppers with access to a credit card.

Here’s how it works: “To use Amazon Cash, customers can visit amazon.ca/cash to receive a barcode linked to their account. They bring this barcode to any Canada Post location, where the Loadhub platform enables them to pay in person with cash or debit to add funds to their Amazon.ca account.”

Press release follows:

Today, Payment Source, the premier alternative payment provider in Canada, announced that customers across Canada can now visit any Canada Post retail location to add cash to their amazon.ca/cash balance using Amazon Cash, powered by Payment Source’s award winning Loadhub pay-in-person solution.

“Offering Canadians a convenient way to pay for online purchases with cash or debit is a key step towards financial inclusion,” says Trevor Cook, CEO of Payment Source. “The benefits of ecommerce should not be restricted to Canadians with access to a credit card. Amazon Cash brings that online shopping experience to everyone.”

According to a Smart Insights survey, 59 percent of Canadians will abandon their online shopping cart because their preferred payment method isn’t available and 40 percent would have more confidence in the etailer if there was more than one payment method. Loadhub’s omni-channel payment technology is available at 6,000 Canada Post locations across Canada, ensuring that Amazon Cash is accessible to 98 percent of the country’s population.
