eBay sellers can expect big changes as part of this year’s Fall Seller Update, including major changes to Seller Performance Standards and a new Seller Hub from which they can access selling tools and reports. eBay will make the full Fall Update announcement later today, and executives will explain them in person to those gathered at its Seller Summit kicking off this afternoon in San Jose.
Beginning in February, eBay will begin judging sellers on two key metrics: defect rate and on-time shipping – and it’s changing how it calculates those metrics.
Sellers who are considered Top Rated will have to offer a 30-day money-back return policy in order to qualify for the Top Rate Plus discount and seal. While eBay is allowing sellers the choice of not offering returns, those who do will see changes beginning in May.
eBay is also creating a new “Seller Hub” that will consolidate the full functionality of its Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro listing tools as well as reports and dashboards for Sales, Seller Costs, Traffic and Seller Standards.
From the Seller Hub, sellers will also be able to access their eBay Store if they have one, in which case they’ll also be able to access Promotions Manager and eBay’s new ad platform called Promoted Listings.
eBay will also make changes to Category and Item Specifics next month.
