eBay has opened its Promoted Listing ad program to a number of Collectibles categories. The marketplace explains, “you can increase the likelihood of a sale by putting your multi-quantity items in front of buyers who are actively shopping. Your ads can appear in prominent locations on eBay, such as the first page of search.”
eBay Promoted Listings was already available in categories such as Sporting Goods, Health & Beauty, and Home & Garden. On Tuesday, it added the following categories:
- Antiques
- Collectibles
- Dolls & Bears
- Pottery & Glass
- Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop
- Stamps
- Travel
The only catch? Only multi-quantity fixed price listings are eligible for Promoted Listings – not generally the format sellers select for antiques and collectibles.
Sellers who wish to advertise their eBay listings on eBay specify how much they are willing to pay – the fee can range from 1-20% of an item’s final sale price, due if a shopper clicks an ad and purchases the item.
eBay reminded sellers that beginning on May 1st, they receive credits of $25/quarter to use towards Promoted Listing ads.
