eBay added two new managers to its executive team in Australia. Kristian Haigh was appointed Senior Director of B2C & Advertising, and David Ramadge re-joined the company as Senior Director of Product & Shipping.
The appointments come as rival Amazon expands its presence in the country. Amazon launched in Australia in December – previously it had only sold digital goods and Amazon hardware on Amazon.com.au.
eBay launched in Australia in 1999 and now has 40,000 sellers. Of the recent appointment, eBay Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Tim MacKinnon said eBay was continually focused on providing sellers with a technology platform that can help grow and expand globally.
“With the appointment of Kristian and David, they both bring years of experience and are passionate about growing the eBay marketplace,” he said in a press release. “I’m pleased to welcome both of these Aussies back to Sydney and have them join my leadership team.”
Haigh, a 15-year veteran in the retail, marketing, and advertising field, will be joining the company on April 1 as a Senior Director of B2C & Advertising. In this role, he’ll be responsible for driving commercial results for B2C sellers and advertisers.
Previously, Haigh worked out of eBay’s European headquarters in Switzerland where he oversaw eBay EMEA’s B2C and Advertising Business. Prior to eBay, Haigh held several Director positions with UK based direct-response start up High Street TV and Rebel Sport.
David Ramadge re-joined eBay in December 2017 as Senior Director of Product & Shipping, focused on creating a seamless end-to-end customer experience for buyers and sellers. Ramadge has been overseeing the team working to bring eBay’s Guaranteed Delivery program to market.
He also led several teams at eBay headquarters in San Jose, California between 2010-2015 as a member of the eBay Local team after Milo, a start-up that was focused on local shopping, was acquired by eBay in 2010.
Between his two eBay stints, Ramadge worked at Google in Product Strategy & Operations on products such as Google Maps and Local Search and was a Co-Founder & COO of Neoglyphic Entertainment, a start-up focused on building advanced 3D and machine learning software for content creation and discovery in the entertainment industry.
