Nominations Open for 2015 Sellers Choice Marketplace Awards

Nominations have opened for the 2015 Sellers Choice Awards for online marketplaces. Each year, EcommerceBytes readers rate the marketplaces they use on a variety of criteria, and with the current state of the industry, never have the awards been so important.

EcommerceBytes initiated Sellers Choice Awards in 2010. While sellers were used to being rated by their customers, it was the first time they could rate the marketplaces on which they sold. Reading the results allowed sellers to see what their peers thought about the viability of major online marketplaces, making Sellers Choice an important resource in evaluating additional channels on which to sell.

From the beginning a majority of respondents reported using eBay, but each year, more sellers join the ranks of the multi-channel seller. And in 2015, there will be more reasons for sellers to consider eBay alternatives.

eBay is planning to breakup the company into two units in the first half of 2015, one for marketplaces and one for payments. With rumors of mass layoffs to take place next year combined with the implementation of a seller defect system in August that is proving challenging, we expect even greater interest in the results of the survey, which will be conducted next month and the results published in the February 2015 issue of EcommerceBytes Update.

Select up to five online marketplaces. Readers are encouraged to notify marketplaces about Sellers Choice and help spread the word. Each year, greater numbers of sellers participate in Sellers Choice as they welcome the opportunity to cast their own votes and read the ratings of their peers.
