Etsy Starts Rolling Out Gift Wrap Options

Etsy

Etsy logoEtsy is starting to roll out a new option to offer gift wrapping, and all sellers should see the option in Shop Manager by Thursday. Etsy will begin displaying gift wrap options to shoppers over the next few weeks. The marketplace is answering questions today in a special discussion board thread. Once concern is that the feature is only offered on a per-order basis. Another concern is that some sellers wish to offer gift-wrapping as a complimentary service.

Announcement follows:

Busy holiday shoppers love the convenience of having their gifts wrapped for them (and many are willing to pay a bit extra for it). That’s why, starting today, we’re giving you an easier way to offer gift wrapping services in your shop. Some sellers will see this new feature right away in Shop Manager, and we’re planning to ramp this to all sellers by Thursday.

We’ll start showing the gift wrap option to shoppers in the next few weeks. During this time, we’ll gradually roll out this new experience, meaning that not all shoppers will see the option to add gift wrap on launch day.

If you choose to offer gift wrap, customers will see the option to add it to their order for an additional fee. All customers will also have the option to add a gift message to their order at no charge. If you choose not to offer the gift wrap option, simply include the newly designed packing slip provided by Etsy.

The new Gift Wrap tool is available in the Shop Options section of Shop Manager. Learn more about the gift wrap tool here. We’ll be answering some of your questions about these tools today in this discussion thread.
