Etsy Gives Sellers More Data on Ad Performance

Etsy offers an ad program for sellers called Promoted Listings and on Tuesday, it launched some enhancements to the program. Sellers who choose to pay to give their listings a boost in search results now have access to new search term analytics and an improved console.

Etsy explains the program here: your listings will appear as ads within search results in addition to where they’d normally appear in the results. With more opportunities to appear within search, your items have a better chance of being discovered. You set a daily budget, and Etsy makes sure you never spend more than that. And, no matter how many times Etsy shows promoted listings, sellers only pay when shoppers click on their ads.

The new Promoted Listings console makes it easier to check and adjust settings, including the daily budget, and makes it easier to toggle Promoted Listings on and off.

And here’s what’s changing with regard to new analytics: Now, when you go to the Promoted Listings console, you’ll see a link under your impression count that you can click to view overall search term analytics for your ads. On that page, you can explore the words or phrases shoppers entered into the search bar that resulted in your ads being shown. You’ll also be able to explore search terms on the individual listing level. Click the link below a listing’s title in your Promoted Listings console to view search term analytics for that listing

There is a caveat, however: “Please note that, in order to protect buyer privacy, these analytics may not be available for listings that have received limited traffic from your ads.”

You can read more about the enhancements to Promoted Listings on the Etsy website.
