Etsy Adds Search Filter to Showcase Items on Sale

Etsy

Etsy logoEtsy launched new tools on August 1st that allow sellers run and manage sales and coupons for their Etsy shops, and as of Tuesday, shoppers can search for sales on Etsy with a new “on sale” filter. As we previously reported, some sellers have some concerns about the filter: “I am all about Etsy making it easier for coupons and sales, but I am totally against the search functionality of letting customers view items by sale,” one seller had written. “It will be a deterrent to other shops who price fairly but don’t offer regular sales.”

Etsy is hosting a Question & Answer session on August 23rd from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm EST for those with questions.

Announcement follows:

A few weeks ago we announced new tools that allow you to easily manage sales and coupons offers for your shop. Earlier this morning, we made these new features available to all shoppers.

As of today, all shoppers will have access to a new “on sale” filter that make it easy to search for sales on Etsy. When you put listings on sale, we’ll update the associated listing pages and listing cards in search results so that buyers can easily see they’re part of a promotion. Listing cards will display the sale price, a strikethrough in the original price, and the words “with minimum” if there’s an order minimum on the promotion.

We’re continuing to make improvements to these features based on your feedback. Soon, you’ll be able to apply coupons to individual listing, set quantity minimums for coupons, and schedule coupons in advance. We’ll continue to keep you updated on changes to these tools as they become available.

Join us tomorrow, August 23 in the Forums for an Admin Q&A with the Ads team. They’ll be on-hand to answer your top-voted questions about the new Sales and Coupons tools.

Learn all about these new features, along with education for running promotions in the Seller Handbook.
