The same day Bloomberg revealed eBay was on the hunt for companies that make spell-correcting algorithms to improve search, Etsy revealed it had acquired one such company.
Blackbird Technologies is a Silicon Valley-based company that uses advanced machine learning techniques and artificial intelligence to improve the quality and relevance of search, a company spokesperson told EcommerceBytes.
Etsy CEO Chad Dickerson said his company would be able to enhance the buyer experience “by making search quicker and easier and by surfacing even more relevant, tailored product recommendations.”
