eBay Updates Mobile App for Easier Selling

eBay published the following announcement on its corporate blog on Monday:

With 11 million new listings added via eBay’s mobile platform per week and 59% of GMV touched by mobile globally, mobile enhancements continue to be a key area of focus. Just in time for spring when consumers are cleaning out their homes to make room for new seasonal purchases, eBay is releasing an update to its Android and iOS mobile apps to make it simpler than ever to sell.

Beginning this week, users can download the free update to eBay’s core Android app, with the iOS app to follow. Each version of the app includes features that are native to the iOS and Android platforms, and sellers will notice improvements to the ease of listing items for sale, including:

Enhanced cataloguing capabilities: search for the item you’re selling using eBay’s expansive catalogue of listings, and the listing flow will auto-fill product specifications, including title, stock image, pricing and shipping options, to help your items successfully sell on the marketplace. You can still make adjustments as needed – including adding a description of the item and more photos – before listing the item for sale.

More efficient listing flow: the new layout features all the details of your listing in an easy-to-read format on one page to make selling even simpler and faster.

“Our product and technology teams continue to stay on the cutting edge of technology to leverage our product catalog as well as our vast data on what buyers want in order to benefit our sellers,” said Kelly Vincent, Vice President of Consumer Selling Products at eBay. “We’re excited to get our updated app into sellers’ hands to make it as quick and easy as possible to list and sell their items.”

eBay is committed to providing sellers with new, simple and more engaging ways to sell on the marketplace. eBay’s latest app update is another example of these efforts, in addition to programs like it’s (sic) recent partnership with Snupps, eBay Valet, Quick Sale and an integration with Shyp to simplify the shipping experience on eBay.

Whether selling sneakers, clothes, accessories, video games, collectibles or more, there’s usually an eBay buyer in search of what you no longer need. In fact, data shows that a pair of women’s shoes is purchased every 8 seconds, a video game is purchased every 11 seconds and a women’s handbag is purchased every 13 seconds on eBay on the mobile in the US*.

Download the updated app today to get started selling on eBay. For additional selling information, visit the Seller Center or check out these product selling guides.
