Online sellers on Bonanza are now receiving lower shipping costs when they purchase and print their shipping labels on the platform. The marketplace explained it was making USPS Commercial Plus pricing available to its sellers.
The Postal Service gives Commercial Base discounts to sellers who purchase postage online, whether it’s through a marketplace, postage service or its own Click N Ship service. Generally only high-volume sellers receive the more favorable Commercial Plus pricing.
Bonanza founder Bill Harding told EcommerceBytes that one of its initiatives this month has been to aggressively negotiate with its shipping provider to ensure that it was offering sellers the best shipping rates available. It was a popular suggestion on the Bonanza seller feedback forum, Harding said.
“It’s part of our “standard operating practice” to make consistent progress toward whatever features our users have voted for. Letting sellers create and vote on the features that are important to them has been a godsend for our ability to prioritize what’s important to our community.”
The company explained how sellers could receive the lower rates: “Just click “Buy shipping” from the order summary page (or the notification email) for any order you receive.”
