Bonanza Offers Online Postage to Sellers

Sellers on Bonanza can now buy and print USPS shipping labels directly on the marketplace. The Postal Service offers discounts to companies that purchase postage online through its Click N Ship service or through one of its partners, including Endicia and Stamps.com, and Bonanza sellers will now be eligible as well.

Bonanza offers discounts of up to 15% of USPS retail pricing. “All you need is a standard computer printer to make postage-paid labels in minutes. Just pay for the postage inside Bonanza, print the USPS-approved label, and affix it to your package.”

An advantage to sellers is that Bonanza marks orders as shipped and provides the tracking number for transactions in which sellers elect to use its postage service. One complaint from sellers however, is the fee – “When you buy postage through Bonanza, you’ll also pay a small service fee. The amount will vary, because it includes variable charges like credit card processing rates and other service fees. But we’ll always show you the exact total before you confirm your purchase.”

Reaction varied depending on whether sellers already used online postage. Said one seller, “Since I use PayPal to accept payments and pay fees there, I will continue to ship thru them without paying an additional fee to print labels.” But another was happy not to have to stand in line at the post office, writing, “Another “sure fire” Bonz tool which will benefit many sellers.”

The company advises sellers purchase postage labels through their pre-funded Bonanza postage account to avoid credit card fees. “Every seller automatically has a postage account. But it’s empty until you fund it by choosing the option in the “Buy shipping” form,” it explains.

Bonanza displays the option for purchasing postage labels when the seller views an order in “Items Sold.”

The marketplace only supports USPS but said if the feature becomes popular, it would add support for other carriers.
