Shyp Builds on eBay Partnership

Shyp is building on its partnership with eBay, calling feedback from online sellers who rely on Shyp for fulfillment “incredible,” and introducing new features last week including scheduled pickups for business sellers.

As eBay explained in a March blog post, Shyp picks up the items from eBay sellers within 20 minutes, professionally packs them, and mails them straight to buyer on the sellers’ behalf.

“Partnering with Shyp is another way that eBay is making the online selling process easier for everyone – from first-time, casual sellers, to small business owners and entrepreneurs,” eBay wrote – and it announced that Shyp fees would be waived for eBay sellers through June 30th.

Last week, Shyp announced new features to appeal to business sellers, which now generate nearly half of its revenue. “Since introducing the eBay integration, we’ve seen a rapid increase of other business-oriented customers, with thousands of ecommerce sellers and small businesses adopting Shyp as a critical tool to run and grow their business.”

Shyp adjusted its pickup schedule for sellers, explaining that because sales are scattered throughout the day, a pickup every 20 minutes isn’t the most efficient. “So we introduced the ability to schedule pickups. And starting today, when pickups are scheduled and not on demand, Shyp customers will no longer be limited to 20 items per pickup; they can have as many picked up as they’d like.”

The company also launched a discount program based on shipment volume. “The more items a customer sends with Shyp, the more they’ll save on pickup, packaging, and shipping.”

Shyp, which is only available in four cities – New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago – also announced a geographical expansion. “Today, we unlocked 21 additional zip codes across our four markets.”

The promotion landing page now shows a new offer that kicked off on August 1st. Eligible eBay sellers can receive 15% off their Shyp Pickup and Packaging Fee on qualifying items through December 31, 2016. Learn more about Shyp and the promotion on the eBay website.
