Sellers Share Wish Lists with Etsy CEO Josh Silverman

Etsy

Etsy logoIn a blog post on Wednesday, “What’s Coming Up In 2018: More buyers, better tools, real talk,” Etsy discussed its plans for the year and invited users to submit questions for CEO Josh Silverman.

The post came a day after Etsy announced it financial performance for the last three months of 2017, and it noted the 17.8% sales growth and milestone of reaching $1 billion in goods sold in a single quarter. “Growth for Etsy.com should translate into more sales for sellers like you,” the company wrote.

Here’s what’s ahead for 2018:

– Closings of Etsy Studio and Etsy Manufacturing, which you can read more about in this Newsflash article.

– Tools to help sellers stand out, grow their business, and be more efficient. “We’re also focused on giving you improved listing, shipping, and order management tools.”

– Helping sellers reach Etsy’s 33 million buyers, including more shopping and sales events and improvements to search.

Etsy is now accepting questions for its next quarterly video update featuring Etsy CEO Josh Silverman and General Manager of Seller Services Kruti Patel Goyal, which will take place this month and be broadcast on March 19.

Sellers have already posted pages of questions for the Etsy CEO, from the general – will Etsy continue to support Wholesale, to the specific, such as what Etsy was doing to “fix” search.

There were also suggestions for features that sellers had on their “wish list,” including the following:

– a text box for personalized items;
– unlimited variations;
– shipping features;
– more color choices (“blue doesn’t cut it for turquoise,” for example);
– more marketing of Vintage items;
– more policing of what’s allowed in Vintage (“We have seen the IKEA sold as vintage with tag on item”);
– increase limits on digital-file sizes.

You can find the questions sellers submitted for Etsy on this thread.

  1. I have a buyer that buys an item, returns it, buys another item, returns it, buys another item, returns it.
    I have NO WAY TO BLOCK THIS PERSON. It’s killing my business. Uses up all my precious stock I need to make my items for people who really like my products. Give me a LOCK OUT mechanism.
