eBay Publishes Top Toys List

Last week, eBay released a “Most Wanted” Holiday Guide with top-selling items across fashion, home, electronics, and entertainment. Today, it released a similar guide devoted to toys.

And next week, eBay will release a “digital toy book” featuring “rare, retro and right now toys for kids of all ages,” which will be available on the Toytopia section of the eBay website.

eBay executive in charge of merchandising Sam Bright said there’s a revival of all things retro, and he said eBay was seeing classic toys gaining popularity alongside new offerings. “On eBay, we have a selection of hundreds of thousands of toys spanning the decades, so whether it’s the latest toys or childhood gadgets that are steeped in nostalgia, shoppers can find the very thing on our marketplace.”

eBay selected the retro and new toys for its list using a team of experts along with global and US toy data.

The eBay Toytopia landing page allows shoppers to shop by category and age, and it also features sections such as “view featured events,” “top deals on holiday toys,” “great toys under $50,” and “top games for family night.” The landing page also features a section for browsers to “Shop Direct Brands,” including Hasbro and Bluefin.

At the bottom of the eBay Toytopia landing page, eBay features advertisements that take shoppers away from its own site to rival retailers, including to Macy’s toy shop.
