Floods and Fires Impact Australian Mail Delivery

Australia Post

Australia PostOnline buyers and sellers should be aware that flooding and fires are causing some mail delays to and from Australia, the country’s postal service announced on Wednesday.

The US Postal Service also issued the following warning this week: “Australia Post advises that the collection and delivery of mail has been disrupted in parts of New South Wales due to severe weather and bushfires. The following postcodes are affected: 2318, 2319, 1695, 2689 and 3129.”

Australia Post announcement follows:

Severe storms and flooding in and around Sydney yesterday and today have resulted in flight cancellations and delays, road closures and access restrictions in many areas. This means mail and parcels in and out of Sydney will be delayed.

The bushfires in Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rosedale and west of Mackay in Queensland are still resulting in some delivery delays in those areas.

This morning we resolved a technical issue at our major parcel sorting facility in Melbourne and we’re clearing the backlog as quickly as we can.

We’re doing everything possible to minimise the impact on customers and monitoring the situations closely and will complete all deliveries as soon as it is safe to do so.

Tracked items are being scanned, so for the most up-to-date information on your items, please use our track an item tool.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
