Etsy Tests New Timetable for Leaving Reviews

Etsy logoEtsy is testing a new timetable for leaving reviews. Buyers use Etsy’s five-star review system (one being the lowest and five being the highest) to review their purchases.

Currently, a buyer can leave a review based on the estimated delivery date of the order (and expires 100 calendar days from that date):

The estimated delivery date is the purchase date + processing time + shipping days.

With the timetable Etsy is testing, buyers can leave reviews as soon as their orders are marked as delivered – the time window is based on delivery tracking.

The goal of the test is to increase the number of buyer reviews by making it easier for them to leave reviews sooner.

Etsy began the test this month and it impacts a percentage of buyers on Etsy.

  1. None of this nonsense results in more sales.
    Etsy is psychotic.
    Needs a check up from the neck up.
    The dopes need TV advertising.
    Radio advertising.
    This is no time to be CHEAP.

  2. The people ruining Etsy are Not adept at Running a successful business.
    Rather, they are predisposed to stripping the the heart and soul from Etsy…..now…..while they are keeping a look out for new opportunities to rape and pillage the next venue we flock to, and the one after that.
    They MUST be stopped.
    They must be shut out.

  3. Rather than running more tests Etsy should fix bugs and search. Search and SEO are a nightmare.

  4. It’s becoming increasingly frustrating to be a seller on Etsy. I think Etsy needs to better control their tests; by making shops aware if they are included and consider letting shops opt out. It’s interesting; as I know Amazon + Amazon Handmade conduct many tests. My sales have not been affected. It’s obvious, I was put in some kind of Etsy test last week; my sales tanked for 24 hours. I do not understand how a shop can go from 100 sales a day to nothing the very next. It’s scary to have no control. Yet, they roll out all these apps to try and improve Etsy sales.

    The true cost of selling through any third party marketplace is giving up control. It’s like having to live every day in constant fear and anxiety; being at the mercy of ever-changing, uncontrollable and external factors.
