Etsy Preps Sellers for Holiday Sales

Hang up the mistletoe – Etsy is prepping sellers for holiday sales. On Monday, it released some articles containing tips and advice on how to “reach shoppers and keep them coming back during the holiday season.” It also revealed a new TV ad campaign and announced it was planning to make some changes to the Stats page.

In the first article, “Unwrap 5 Tips for A Successful Holiday Season,” Etsy revealed its ad plans: “Over the next few months, we’ll be showing buyers just how amazing Etsy shop owners are in new national television ads that will air across the United States and in the United Kingdom.”

It provided 5 tips, from running a sale and paying for ads to offering free shipping.

Etsy also said it was changing the Stats feature: “We’re making a few updates to Stats to make it easier to understand how your business is doing, helping you spend less time digging into data, and more time doing what you love. But, don’t worry, while we are giving Stats a refresh, we’re also making sure that all of the information you rely on to make decisions about your business will still be available. We’ll share more details soon.”

The second article, “6 Ways Etsy is Helping Sellers Outside the US Grow This Christmas Season,” Etsy said it was increasing its marketing investment in its core markets around the world, including TV commercials in the US and UK and public relations initiatives (working with local reporters to showcase gifts on Etsy).

And, Etsy wrote, “In all of our core markets, which include the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany, we’re investing more in digital marketing to highlight the products available on our site so shoppers think of Etsy when they’re doing their Christmas shopping. The goal of this increased marketing is to bring more shoppers in those countries to Etsy.”

Etsy also revealed it is inviting sellers to participate in a Labor Day sale at the end of the month and a Cyber Week sale in November, see more in this related article on EcommerceBytes.

  1. FINALLY !
Etsy is NOW READY to Remove the “Dashboard” tab.
There’s Plenty of room to put “Recent Activity” on the left on the “Stats” page.
VOILA ! An even EASIER Routine :o)
