eBay Touts Its Global Shipping Program

eBay said 27% of its listings are available through its Global Shipping Program (GSP). And citing statistics from last year, eBay said sellers can get a big boost in sales thanks to the program.

“Approximately 16% of sellers who enrolled in the Global Shipping Program in April 2015, who had not previously sold internationally and who enabled more than 60% of their eligible listings with the Global Shipping Program, experienced a 15% increase in sales (or more) 90 days after enrollment as measured against the 90 day period prior to enrollment,” eBay said, though it cautioned, “Individual results may vary.”

The GSP program is designed to make things easy-peasy, though not all buyers and sellers would agree that’s the case. eBay explains: “The Global Shipping Program identifies which of your items can be legally sold in which countries. When your item sells, simply ship it to the Global shipping center in Kentucky. The program takes it from there.”

Pitney Bowes powers the program for eBay, which said the center processes tens of thosuands of packages daily.

The top GSP category based on orders per month by far was Motors, followed by Clothing, Shoes, & Accessories; Collectibles, and Home & Garden.

The top GSP category based on average selling price was Musical Instruments, followed by Computers & Tablets and Cameras.

eBay also revealed the top ten GSP countries based on sales: Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, France, Norway, Russia, and Italy.
