Online sellers in the UK, EU, and beyond are wondering what the impact of a non-EU United Kingdom would be on their businesses. Thursday’s historic “Brexit” vote took many by surprise and leaves much uncertainty about the future of trade with the UK.

eBay UK Message to Sellers on June 25th
UK vote to leave the European Union (25 June, 2016 | 11:01AM BST)
As a global business enabling cross-border trade for SMBs worldwide, eBay has been a consistent supporter of the EU Single Market and the creation of a true EU Digital Single Market.
We believe there are advantages for both sellers and buyers to be part of large open trade blocks. But our business is a global one and our sellers are successful within and outside the European Union. British voters have decided that their interests are best represented outside of the EU and so we will continue to put the best interests of British SMBs and customers at the heart of what we do.
We will continue to work with the UK Government and at a European level to ensure we are close to any discussions/changes resulting from this vote, which may affect our customers.

Etsy Message to Sellers on June 24th

I know that many of you have been following the news and are wondering how the results of the “Brexit” referendum will affect you.
Etsy continues to work in the UK and European Union to enable our community to buy and sell from all over the world. The passage of the referendum is the beginning of a long process that will play out for quite some time. This is day one and it will take some time to assess what this means for our global community. There are a number of open questions created by this event and we will be looking into the various issues. We are supportive of any measures to facilitate ease of sales into all markets for our sellers and any efforts to reduce regulatory burden for microbusiness and microentrepreneurs.
I know many of you probably have a variety of questions but it is too early to offer answers. Rest assured that we’ll provide more updates as the news develops and any specific issues become clearer.
We are proud of our global community and have always celebrated the diversity and inclusivity found on Etsy. Our sellers from across all markets have made Etsy what it is today and we are committed to providing support to our community in the coming months.
