Online Payments Firms to Gather at CES 2017

From the early days of trading, to the last century when we moved from cash to credit cards, money has always been evolving. Today, we’re speeding towards a world of “digital money.” That includes everything from making payments through your mobile phone to using a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin. Digital is letting us pay and get paid faster and with less impediments – whether it’s a robo-advisor managing your wealth or an app to let you transfer money to a friend’s account. Technology tools including biometric devices, behavioral and predictive analytics, artificial intelligence and deep machine learning as well as the emerging Internet of Things are all playing a role in transforming the economy to a digital one.

Living in Digital Times is proud to announce that the Digital Money Forum presented by Mastercard will return to CES 2017. The event is designed to provide members of the tech community who attend CES a look at their role as developers, hardware manufacturers and service providers in the financial transition. PYMNTS, the premier source of information about “What’s Next” in payments and commerce, is the exclusive media partner for the event.

“Whether you’re building an Internet appliance, creating a venue for financial transactions, or simply running your business, you are witnessing one of the most important industries to go digital,” said Robin Raskin founder and president, Living in Digital Times. “Where better to get the 30,000-foot view of technology’s role in the process than at CES – the center of innovation.”

At the Digital Money Forum, you’ll hear from leading industry experts including:

  • Key executives from Mastercard and its partners to showcase innovative payments and digital lifestyle solutions.
  • John Sculley, serial entrepreneur, now Vice Chairman, Lantern Credit, is rethinking credit scores in the connected world. Powered by predictive analysis and AI, Sculley sees a transformation in credit ratings based on real-life moments, empowering consumers to take control of their financial wellness.
  • Karen Webster, CEO of PYMNTS, will present the results of PYMNTS latest study on digital wallet adoption. Immediately following the conference, attendees are invited to a Blockchain Networking reception.
  • Matt Roszak, Founder, Bloq Capital, and an early investor in BitCoin and Blockchain, looks at where we’re at on the road to cryptocurrency. Back by popular demand, he’ll offer predictions for 2017.
  • Brett King, futurist, CEO/Founder of Moven, and producer of Banking Banks a brash podcast, will look at the friction and fellowship that exists between fintech startups and traditional banking.
  • Jodi Holtzman, Senior Vice President, Market Innovation, AARP, will lead an expert panel on evolving global wealth management. How machine learning, complex algorithms and robo-advisors, stack up compared to traditional management.
  • Alistair Croll, Founder of Solve for Interesting and author of Lean Analytics, will moderate discussions concerning the underbanked.
  • Perianne Boring, Founder of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, will discuss the role that regulators will play as the world of fintech matures.

Attendees will also see:

  • Demonstrations of new wearable payment systems
  • New biometric authentication systems
  • Brand specific, bank specific loyalty programs
  • Robo-advisor and chat bot demos

The one-day summit is held on January 5 at LVCC, North Hall, N259.
