Descartes Runs Ecommerce Benchmark Survey

DescartesLogistics firm Descartes is surveying merchants as part of its first annual Ecommerce Benchmark Survey. Gregor Walter, Vice President, Product Strategy, Ecommerce at Descartes Systems Group, said the survey covers industry issues and is critical to understand how ecommerce businesses are reacting to continued growth and adopting operations to prepare for change.

Everyone who provides their email address when taking the survey will receive a detailed executive summary of the results. The company will also share its findings with attendees at its global user and partner conference in Florida in March.

Why is Descartes Launching an Ecommerce Survey?
With ecommerce intrinsically linked to logistics, Descartes has a keen interest in exploring this sales channel and the bellwether trends impacting it. Descartes is looking to discover the degree to which ecommerce is affecting the logistics industry as well as the market factors affecting ecommerce supply chains. The survey is a logical evolution from Descartes’ previous studies spanning the forwarder and broker industry and transportation management.

A detailed executive summary of the results will be sent to those who provide an email address. Our goal is that the subsequent analysis will provide a deeper understanding of the state of ecommerce and reveal how businesses are using technology to keep pace.

How is the Ecommerce Survey structured?
Refined and tested with targeted questions, Descartes First Annual ECommerce Benchmark Survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete. The study launches with high level demographics and business-level information before taking a deeper dive into industry assessment and competition, sales and logistics strategy, followed by a critical technology assessment. Contact information is optional, and all feedback is treated as highly confidential.
