Etsy Runs Promotion to Spur Year-End Sales

Etsy Senior Product Educator Cheyne Little published the following post on the Etsy Seller Handbook:

Thanks for helping us share the news about Etsy’s holiday promotion earlier this month. Today, we’re launching a new promotion for all Etsy buyers. Between now and December 27, qualifying buyers who spend $50 in a single transaction at one Etsy shop can receive a $10 credit toward a future purchase on Etsy that they can redeem through January 31, 2017.

The offer applies to all buyers on Etsy making a purchase from a shop that accepts Direct Checkout or Paypal. Etsy is running this promotion at no additional cost to sellers, and no action is required in your shop. As long as you accept Direct Checkout or PayPal, qualifying buyers can take advantage of the offer. (See campaign details below for full eligibility requirements.)

Help Us Spread the Word

We’ll notify shoppers through email, social media, and banners across Etsy. Want to get involved? Share our post on Facebook or check our Instagram and Twitter channels to regram or retweet. If you’d like to create your own post, here’s some wording you can use to make it quick and easy: “Spend $50 in one shop on Etsy and get $10 toward your next purchase. Ends Dec. 27, see Terms & Conditions for details. etsy.me/giftforyou”

Buyers must spend $50 in one Etsy shop before taxes and shipping, and after applying any coupons, to qualify for the promotion, so make sure you have enough inventory to allow shoppers to take advantage of the promotion. Keep in mind that shoppers can buy multiple items from your shop to reach the $50 minimum.

Please encourage buyers to contact Etsy support with any questions about the promotion, and see below for more information on eligibility.

Campaign Details

Between now and December 27, 2016, Etsy buyers who spend $50 in a single transaction at one shop will receive a $10 credit toward a future Etsy purchase. (Please note that, unlike our last promotion, this offer is open to all qualifying Etsy buyers, not only first-time buyers.) Qualifying buyers will receive an email with instructions for redeeming their credit two to four days after their purchase is processed. The offer is limited to one per person while the promotion lasts, and credits must be redeemed by January 31, 2017.

To be eligible for this promotion, buyers must spend at least $50 in a single shop in a single transaction, before taxes and shipping, and after applying any coupons. Buyers can order multiple items from one shop to qualify. This promotion is available to Etsy buyers making purchases in the following currencies: United States dollars (USD), British Pounds (GBP), Canadian dollars (CAD), Australian Dollars (AUD), and Euros (EUR).

Purchases of Gift Cards are not eligible for this promotion. Purchases made in person, through Pattern shops, and those using “Other” and “Payment by mail” payment options are not eligible. Canceled orders will no longer qualify to receive the $10 credit and will not receive an email with redemption instructions. Review the full Terms & Conditions for additional details.
