PayPal Makes Going Global Easier

PayPal

PayPal LogoPayPal is removing some of the obstacles of selling internationally with a new service called PayPal Global Sellers. Through a partnership with Webinterpret, it is providing a suite of tools including website translation, taxes/duties presentment, international shipping and return facilitation, localized payments, and more.

The announcement made by Melissa O’Malley, PayPal Director of Global Initiatives, follows:

We’re excited to introduce PayPal Global Sellers, our newest cross-border trade service that helps small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) in the U.S. increase their international presence and sales. PayPal Global Sellers addresses the most commonly cited international growth barriers with a suite of tools, including: website translation, taxes/duties presentment, international shipping and return facilitation, localized payments and more.

In partnership with Webinterpret, the PayPal Global Sellers solution helps merchants to enhance their international sales at no extra cost, with:

– Localized website translation in less than a week, enabling international buyers to search and shop in their own language and currency

– Localized PayPal secure checkout

– Website and product visibility in 60 countries

– Low cost, hassle-free international shipping options from the U.S.

– Specialized support from a dedicated account manager with reporting tools

Na’vi Organics, an early Global Sellers beta customer, has launched 55 localized versions of their store and are now able to accept payment in 25 different currencies via PayPal. Through the combination of providing translated and localized versions of their store and offering competitive shipping rates, Na’vi experienced a 72% increase in their international orders in the first six weeks after implementing PayPal Global Sellers.

PayPal Global Sellers can immediately benefit the more than 562,000 U.S. SMBs that started to sell online to a new country with PayPal in 2016. Additionally, our new PayPal cross-border trade data reveals that the U.S. SMBs studied, who expanded their international selling with PayPal, saw nearly 33 percent business growth from 2015-2016.

Merchants participating in the PayPal Global Sellers program can also be covered by PayPal Seller Protection, which protects a merchant’s eligible online sales, helps minimize claims and chargebacks, and helps prevent merchant fraud.

PayPal Global Sellers is also available in the United Kingdom and Germany and we will expand the service to additional markets in 2017.
