eBay UK No Longer Gives a Pass on Royal Mail Tracking

eBay

eBay logoAfter discovering last year that tracking information received from Royal Mail was incomplete, eBay gave UK sellers a free pass on tracking requirements as long as they uploaded tracking information to their account themselves. This month, eBay UK is no longer protecting certain transactions from late-delivery on the remaining services that had been problematic.

Announcement follows:

Business sellers: From 31 July 2017, we’ll no longer automatically register Royal Mail transactions as being delivered on time.

Due to issues receiving up-to-date tracking information, we’ve been protecting certain types of Royal Mail transactions from late delivery rate misses. With the tracking issue now completely resolved, from 31 July 2017, we’ll no longer automatically register Royal Mail transactions as delivered on time.

This upcoming change affects all Royal Mail transaction types, including:

Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class
Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class
Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed

We’d recommend you visit your seller dashboard and make any necessary changes to your processes.
