eBay Runs Auction Promotion with Gallery Plus Thrown In

eBay is running a free-listing promotion for auction listings with Gallery Plus thrown in at no extra charge. However, like most of eBay.com’s listing promotions, this latest promo is by invitation only.

Sellers who do receive the invitation (check both your email and your My Messages) can list up 50,000 listings auction and auctions with Buy It Now and pay no listing fees, and will pay no additional fee for adding Gallery Plus to those listings. Gallery Plus is designed to draw shoppers’ attention when perusing search results.

Gallery Plus is an optional feature for which sellers must usually pay a fee; it displays a larger picture, up to 400 x 400 pixels, when a shopper hovers their mouse over the item. Otherwise, the picture is shown at the standard size of 96 pixels. (In the Clothing, Shoes & Accessories category, Gallery Plus pictures display up to 250 x 250 pixels.) In addition, photos with Gallery plus include a magnifying glass and Enlarge link.

Only 5, 7, and 10-day listing durations are eligible for the promotion (1-day and 3-day listing durations are specifically excluded), and it’s important to note that while 10-day auction listings will not be charged an insertion fee, they will be subject to the listing upgrade fee.

Sellers who were invited to participate will have received an email and/or a message in My eBay. The promotion is activated with the seller’s qualifying eBay user ID and is not transferable. All existing selling limits as well as category and item limits apply and may exclude sellers from creating the maximum number of listings.

This promotion runs from March 13 – 23, 2014. All other fees apply, see eBay websitefor details and restrictions.
