Amazon launched two paid coaching programs for US sellers this year. The Amazon Marketplace Starter program costs $700/month for 3 months, while Amazon Marketplace Growth costs between $2,500 – $5,000/month for 12 months.
Both programs offer personalized coaching, training, and insight from an assigned Account Manager. The Starter program shows participants how to use Seller Central and Prime, and provides recommendations for product offerings. It’s limited to sellers in the US Marketplace who have opened their account in the past 12 months.
The Amazon Marketplace Growth program provides guidance on improving sales, expanding their business, and can help with resolving business-critical issues. It’s limited to sellers on the US Marketplace who have had an active Pro account in good standing for 12 months.
Sellers with less than $1 million in monthly sales for the previous 12 months pay $2,500/month; those with between $1 million and $10 million in monthly sales pay $3,500/month; and those with sales greater than $10 million/month pay $5,000/month.
Amazon provides participants in both programs advice on merchandising their products through listing optimization, advertising, deals, promotions, and even marketing on social media.
The Starter program helps sellers set up their catalog, while the Marketplace Growth program helps with maintaining the health of selling accounts – including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
High-volume sellers are very receptive to the Marketplace Growth program not only for the opportunity it presents to boost sales in a number of ways, but for the potential to resolve business-critical issues that might crop up, which without intervention from someone at Amazon, can bring a business to its knees.
